Montag
Went to work, where one class was working on the simple past tense and the other filled in a sheet with different English idioms to do with food (it was a Hauswirtschaft/food technology group). Came home, did a bit of shopping and had a nap.
Dienstag
Went to work, the teacher wasn't in for my first class, then for the second class they were working on the simple past tense again. For most of the class I worked with a small group of students to give them more personalised help, then I had to take over the class for a little while, while the teacher took them out one by one to go through marks. Then I had to go to my fave place on earth - the Einwohnmeldeamt to "ummelden" (attempt #2) and I WAS SUCCESSFULLLL YAY I AM FINALLY A REGISTERED CITIZEN OF LUEBECK!!!!!!!
Mittwoch
Woke up early again to go and observe the class that's in the kitchens, then had to go to lesson where I gave my own lesson about nutrition, which went well I feel. It may have been a little too easy for them, but the teacher said that not everything has to be difficult and easier lessons give them a confidence boost. In my second lesson, they were preparing group presentations on a certain part of English grammar. One group asked me to explain the difference between which/that as a relative clause. Yep, its not easy. Then I went home, did some more shopping (I am constantly buying water I swear???), helped a disabled woman up the stairs, then took a well deserved nap.
Donnerstag
I got up, went to work, where one class were giving presentations on the history of Ireland and I had to evaluate them and give them feedback with the class teacher. In my next class they did a mini exam thing and they went through it. There was however a little excitement as it had been snowing the whole day. "No problem," I thought, "I'll just get the bus home. I'm only wearing my trainers" (In fairness to me Apple Weather said there was only a 30% chance of snow...). BUT ALL BUSSES GOT CANCELLED, so old muggins ere had to walk home in the freezing cold, through frost and over icy roads like a penguin to get home. I made a soup and got under ALLLL the blankets.
Freitag
Was me cleaning day. The land lady and her husband also did some more work to the second room, so I might have to find somebody for that soon. I did my weekly shop and pfand too. Then I made a classic fish finger and chips dinner.
Samstag
I was in pain all day so pretty much just curled up in a ball all day. I did however go out to buy water and potatoes (the essentials and also too heavy to carry on top of my Friday shop) and then on the night I went to the Hoftheater to see The Importance of Being Earnest (in English). I had a good night and 2 euro prosecco so cannot complain.
Sonntag
I went for a walk today, applied for some tutoring jobs back home, updated my CV, looked at some houses, cooked my dinner, had a bath, had a sandwich.
