Montag 29/1
In the first class they started a new topic of clothes. They had to fill in a sheet of A-Z with clothing items. There IS NOTHING FOR Q. In the next class they did the 30 second speaking game that I did with the Wednesday class last week, but they struggled a lot more, then they did about the food pyramid.
Dienstag 30/1
I took two students out to do small situational dialogues with them, which went well. Then the whole class was doing about creating negative sentences in the past tense i.e. didn't + Grundform. Then they also had to write questions about something in the past, then they walked around the classroom to ask each other.
Mittwoch 31/1 (January was the longest month I have ever seen)
I had the class to myself and they had to write a story from some pictures on the sheet about weight loss. Some didn't realise that I wasn't German and thought I just had a very good English accent. They all worked well (this class think they are bad at English but they are all perfectly understandable and just need confidenceeeeee). In the next class they had to give their presentations on the grammar topics they were preparing a few weeks ago. English grammar is difficult it seems, but so is German so swings and roundabouts.
Donnerstag 1/2 (FINALLY)
The class were doing about comparatives and superlatives. They also learned about "make sb do something".
Freitag 2/2
Just cleaned and dropped my phone down the toilet (annoying).
Samstag 3/2
Literally nothinggggggggg just looking at furniture (mainly hot tubs).
Sonnstag 4/2
Nothing againnnnnnn.
Montag 5/2
The class revised the comparatives that they did last week.
Dienstag 6/2
I did my famous past tense board game with the class, then the class teacher had another one for them to do, which they seemed to enjoy. I love this class because they always try, they aren't scared of making mistakes.
Mittwoch 7/2
The teacher forgot to give me the class work beforehand so I had to freestyle a bit. They had information on different types of diets, then they had to fill in a dialogue about them. Sometimes it is hard to get answers out of them, and its even more difficult when you don't know names yet.
Donnerstag 8/2
None of my teachers were in so I went to another English class, where they were talking about mobile phone usage and how it can be damaging. I am not a massive fan of classes like this, they always seem a bit preachy and heavy handed. Phones can be good and you gotta give credit where its due. They did an activity called "Laufdiktat" (there is no English word sorry), where they had to go up to a piece of paper stuck on the wall, memorise what it says, and go back to their seat and copy it down. Did my shopping and went home.
Freitag 9/2
I cleaned my flat (didn't drop my phone down the toilet though!).
Samstag 10/2
Walked into town (40 mins each way am basically walking champion of the world). Bought some hair dye and nail strengthener. I bought copper hair dye, and the shade is just called "Irland" and I'm not 100% sure how PC that is but it did make me laugh.
Sonntag 11/2
Just been looking at furniture and writing this blog. My potatoes are boiling in the background. I'm having meatballs and mash. It's a long story but I basically have about a million portions of spag bol and meat balls. Red meat is bad, but so is being poor *thinking emoji*.
