Moin moin, this week I did a lot of travelling, and mostly, sitting on trains. Words this week: jederzeit- anytime das Grapefruit- grapefruit (Not many, oops) Montag I wrote my blog, and did all my washing. I also had to do my shopping because I had 0 food in the house. I bought prawns, some more prawns that turned out to be crab meat upon closer inspection, and some small medallions that resembled fishcakes (they were indeed fishcakes and were absolutely scrumptious!). Dienstag I got up early and got on the bus to go to the train station. I was visiting Bremen. I got there about 10:45 (a whole 2 minutes early!). I met an internet friend who I'd known for about 5 years or so and he gave me a tour of Bremen, before buying me an ice cream (thanks, Maik!) and we sat by the river and talked about life. He then had to go to work, so I took a stroll along the river, stopping for reading breaks and eating my lunch. I then checked the train home- it was running half an hour lat

Hellooooooooo y'all. Words this week: Montag In my first lesson they started a new topic "New York". We got to listen to some Frank Sinatra and then the students had to fill in a sheet, identifying the boroughs of NY. Next, I had to sit with students 2 or 3 at a time and listen their interpretations of a cartoon about the Sandy Hook shooting. When I got home I sent some emails around about my dissertation, as I was unsure whether to do it as part of the German or English side of my degree (I've opted for English now), as my topic is "Denglish/Denglisch" (depending on who you ask). Dienstag Firstly, I wasn't needed. I'd come to work all early, bright eyed and bushy tailed, but I wasn't needed, so I did some Nachhilfe prep and printed out some Denglish adverts I'd seen, so I could spider diagram my ideas a bit better. Afterwards, I went to my lesson. In the lesson I had to go through and check everybody's work (while t

Words this week: Montag On Monday, my first class had to fill in a gap fill by listening to a tape of the complete text. The text was a conversation between a hairdresser and their client. Then, the students had to pair up and go through the conversation themselves, as if they were in that situation. In my second lesson, four groups had four different cartoons about school shootings. They had to write their own interpretations of the cartoons and present them to the class. Dienstag In the first lesson, they were doing what they did last week. They had a mediation exercise, two reading exercises and flash cards to put vocab on to learn at home. They could also talk to me and discuss how to "Englishise" their essays. In the second lesson they were doing a lesson that I planned. I made an interactive presentation. The theme was
